The Message of the Iranian Society of Electric  Machines and Drives

Electrical machines, transformers, and electric drive systems constitute a fundamental pillar of modern infrastructure. Beyond their essential role in the generation, transmission, and distribution of electrical energy, these technologies are indispensable in a wide range of applications, including wind power plants, electric vehicles, railway transportation systems, marine propulsion systems, and industrial processes. As the global demand for sustainable and energy-efficient technologies continues to grow, research and innovation in this field have become increasingly important, attracting significant attention from both academia and industry.

In this context, the International Conference on Electrical Machines and Drives (ICEMD), organized by the Iranian Society of Electrical Machines and Drives (ISEMD) in collaboration with leading universities, provides a valuable platform for presenting the latest scientific achievements, exchanging ideas, and discussing emerging challenges and opportunities in this rapidly evolving field.

The continuous growth in both the number and quality of papers submitted to successive editions of this conference reflects the increasing recognition within the scientific and industrial communities of the vital importance of transformer technologies, electrical machines, and drive systems. Undoubtedly, this joint academic and industrial event plays a significant role in fostering scientific collaboration, facilitating knowledge commercialization, and promoting innovation.

Following the successful organization of the fifth edition of the conference at Iran University of Science and Technology, we are delighted that the sixth edition of this distinguished scientific event will be hosted by Sharif University of Technology. In particular, despite the military agression on the Sharif University campus in April 2026, the conference organizing committee has remained fully committed to ensuring, through careful planning and effective management, the successful delivery of a meaningful, impactful, and inspiring event. I therefore warmly invite all faculty members, researchers, students, and industry professionals to actively participate and contribute their valuable achievements to further enhance the success and impact of this conference.

Finally, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all those who have contributed to the success of previous editions of this conference. I also extend my best wishes to the organizers of ICEMD 2026 for a successful and memorable event.
